Creating a Sales Funnel in Google Analytics

If you use Google Analytics you can set up a sales funnel to visually see where site vistors are exiting from your check-out process.
- After you have logged in to your Google Analytics account you will see the list of web sites profiles. Do NOT view the repory instead under the action column click on Edit (on the right hand side).
- You will then see a box labelled Goals
- Click on Add Goal to open up the new Goal Settings screen
- Give the Goal a name e.g. Checkout
- Set the Goal Type to URL Destination
- Set the Match Type to Head Match
- Set the Goal URL to /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=payreturn
- Then click on "+ Yes, create a sales funnel for this goal"
- Now enter the following five steps
- Step 1
URL: /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=store
Name: View Store - Step 2
URL: /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=cart
Name: Display Cart Details - Step 3
URL: /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=usereg
Name: Register and Login Page - Step 4
URL: /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=billing
Name: Customer Details - Step 5
URL: /index.php?option=com_sebercart&view=checkout
Name: Checkout Page
- Step 1
- Click on Save Goal (Note: You may have to ommit steps above if you set Seber Cart to have no user registration for example)
- Click onm Analytics Settings (top left) to go back to the main screen and then view the report
- Click on Goals and then click on Funnel Visualization
- You may have to wait for some data to be collected for your goal but once that happens you will be able to see how far visitors are progressing through your check out
